One of the most scenic trails that we’ve ever been on. Perfect for a long walk or bike ride. We rode a rented city bike up to the Whirlpool State Park from Goat Island. Parts are gravel and parts are a concrete sidewalk depending on which way you go. You could stay on the sidewalk all the way if you wanted though.

Did not feel safe alone. It could be nicer. The northern part of the park includes the Gorge Trail. The trail itself is a nice 400ft descent with views along the river. Parts of the trail are strewn with rubble from the rocks above but otherwise is a wide easy path.
