Trailhead Niagara Gorge Hiking Trail (couple trip)

Very beautiful trail, lots of detours to view the water.

One of the most scenic trails that we’ve ever been on. Perfect for a long walk or bike ride. We rode a rented city bike up to the Whirlpool State Park from Goat Island. Parts are gravel and parts are a concrete sidewalk depending on which way you go. You could stay on the sidewalk all the way if you wanted though.

Did not feel safe alone. It could be nicer. The northern part of the park includes the Gorge Trail. The trail itself is a nice 400ft descent with views along the river. Parts of the trail are strewn with rubble from the rocks above but otherwise is a wide easy path. First time stopping to see the Niagara Gorge View, and it was so beautiful! We went in the peak of fall to see the foliage, and it did not disappoint. The water is extremely blue and is beautiful to see, especially with the fall colors in the trees! Amazing views! You can get really close to Niagara Falls this way. There are some stairs to go down. There comes a point where there is an upper and lower trail.
