What makes it 47% Baby-Friendly: A baby in a carrier fits on the short Overlook trail and restrooms likely have a changer, yet uneven ground rejects strollers, longer hikes are unsafe, and no private nursing room exists.
Note: Trailhead Niagara Gorge Hiking Trail is 47% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Niagara Falls for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for the two easy Gorge trails, breaks at overlooks, and baby-care stops without rushing.
Great Gorge Scenic Overlook Trail:
A flat, 1-hour round-trip along the rim with wide views of the rapids.
Tip: Use a soft-structured baby carrier; bring water and pause at benches near overlooks.
Upper Great Gorge Trail:
A 2-hour hike on the old railway bed with interpretive signs.
Tip: Carry snacks for you and the baby; plan one rest stop halfway at the river lookout.
Trailhead Center Facilities:
Restrooms with water-filling stations and baby changing tables.
Tip: Stop here before and after your hike to refill bottles and change diapers.

Very beautiful trail, lots of detours to view the water.

One of the most scenic trails that weโve ever been on. Perfect for a long walk or bike ride. We rode a rented city bike up to the Whirlpool State Park from Goat Island. Parts are gravel and parts are a concrete sidewalk depending on which way you go. You could stay on the sidewalk all the way if you wanted though.

Did not feel safe alone. It could be nicer. The northern part of the park includes the Gorge Trail. The trail itself is a nice 400ft descent with views along the river. Parts of the trail are strewn with rubble from the rocks above but otherwise is a wide easy path. While the views and trail are nice, there are piles of trash, liquor and beer containers, graffiti and is overall quite dumpy. the...

First time stopping to see the Niagara Gorge View, and it was so beautiful! We went in the peak of fall to see the foliage, and it did not disappoint. The water is extremely blue and is beautiful to see, especially with the fall colors in the trees! There are plenty of different trail entrances that have stairs that lead you down, but be aware there are a lot of stairs! So if you find stairs to be...

I took the lower but they both seem to have beautiful views. The lower trail is very narrow and potentially dangerous. There comes a point where you come to a building that has some concrete stairs. If you go past the building and a platf...
Trails open sunrise to sunset year-round. In spring and fall, pack layers and watch for muddy spots; in summer, start before 9 am to avoid midday heat.
