A baby can stay buckled during the car roll, but the site lacks stroller paths, diaper stations, quiet seating, and shade, so only a very brief, car-based stop is practical.
Note: Mysterious Road is 40% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Jeju for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time to experience the illusion, take photos, and grab a snack without rushing with a baby.
Drive in Neutral Up the Slope:
Shift into neutral on the marked stretch and watch your car appear to roll uphill.
Tip: Keep your baby secured in a car seat and enjoy the illusion from inside.
Capture a Family Photo:
Pose together at the 'Mysterious Road' signpost for a fun keepsake.
Tip: Step off the road carefully and use a wide-angle shot to include the rolling hills.
Snack Break at Mystic 3° Café:
Walk to the nearby café for coffee, cake and views of Hallasan.
Tip: Call ahead about stroller space and use outdoor seating if needed.

It's a optical illusion.. You feel road is steep but it's a illusion. Car /bus will move on with the engine off.

It's really really boring in the conventional sense but watching people try to roll cans and bottles down the hill with cars parked in neutral rolling backwards was hilarious. Definitely worth a stop if you want to see how boring it actually is

This is a short segment of road (about 50 to 80 m long, with signs indicating start and end) which appears to go uphill (optical illusion). Hence, a rolling can or car in neutral gear will seem to "roll uphill". Several cars stopped on the road, switched on hazard lights, and then either rolled forward/backward up the hill. One has to be very careful as there is traffic on the road.

Despite its seemingly ordinary appearance, this sloping road challenged the laws of gravity, creating an intriguing and mystifying experience. The illusion of objects rolling uphill defied logic, giving rise to a sense of wonder and curiosity. Even in the winter chill, witnessing this pec...

It is not a very long stretch and one could try out this optic illusion using a bottled water or turning off the engine of the car at neutral gear to see the car/bottle going upwards on the uphill slope. Pretty cool. Highly recommend the Mystic Cafe whi...
