The park offers free walking paths, benches, public art and a skate area for one person, but limited adult-oriented facilities mean it suits a short casual stop rather than a full outing.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Gives you time to skate, walk, take photos and rest without rushing.
Skate Park Session:
Use the fly ledge, grind box, flat bank and rail.
Tip: Bring your own board and protective gear; weekdays are quieter.
Park Photography:
Capture the multi-tower castle, red train sculpture and “Trees Have Eyes” art.
Tip: Visit during golden hour for softer light.
Jog or Walk Laps:
Run or stroll on slip-resistant rubber pathways.
Tip: Loop the circuit twice for a 2-km workout.
Relax on Benches:
Read a book or observe skate and play activities.
Tip: Grab a takeaway coffee from nearby cafes before you arrive.
The rubber paths stay grippy in wet weather but bring a waterproof jacket in rain. In summer, visit early to avoid midday showers and get cooler light for photos.

Spacious green space with a playground for kids. There's also a mini skatepark inside. The benches look clean and well maintained.

Fenced in park near to the cathedral parking. Great park for kids. The floor is a soft foam, overall a safe place next to a busy road. Some interactive play things like the sand digger and the water pump which is unique and fun for kids. There is also free wifi if you can get on.

Beautiful park to take the kids to. Clean, and well kept. Play ground is very nice with lots to do and see. Keep a few coins handy for the toilet available. Lots of historical places to see and visit around the park. Ducks in the little river. Close to shops like Tesco express.

My kids loved it here. My oldest is obsessed with trains, so the train at the playground was a big hit. We didn’t try the other playground at the park because the toddler section kept my almost 5 and 2 year old completely occupied.
