Fenced soft-surface playground, castle unit, swings, sensory sand-water zone, toilets and picnic lawns keep 2-to-12-year-olds busy for hours, making it one of the city’s top free kid attractions.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Kids need time to explore equipment, play and rest without hurry.
Four-Tower Castle play unit:
Climb, slide and explore the multi-tower castle structure.
Tip: Arrive early to snag the best spots on slides and climbing nets.
Imaginative train and boat play:
Use talk tubes, climb aboard the red train sculpture and rotate the boat.
Tip: Encourage role-play to keep both younger and older kids engaged.
Swing fun for all ages:
Try flat swings, cradle swings and the inclusive swing seat.
Tip: Bring a small cushion for younger kids on the flat swings if needed.
Sensory water pump and sand digger:
Pump fresh water and scoop sand for hands-on play.
Tip: Pack towels or change of clothes; little ones can get wet.
Picnic and games in open green space:
Spread a blanket on the lawn or play tag/football.
Tip: Bring a lightweight picnic set and compact ball for easy play.
In summer bring sun hats and refillable water bottles. After rain the rubber surface stays slip-resistant but can be damp, so pack a rain jacket.

Spacious green space with a playground for kids. There's also a mini skatepark inside. The benches look clean and well maintained.

Fenced in park near to the cathedral parking. Great park for kids. The floor is a soft foam, overall a safe place next to a busy road. Some interactive play things like the sand digger and the water pump which is unique and fun for kids. There is also free wifi if you can get on.

Beautiful park to take the kids to. Clean, and well kept. Play ground is very nice with lots to do and see. Keep a few coins handy for the toilet available. Lots of historical places to see and visit around the park. Ducks in the little river. Close to shops like Tesco express.

My kids loved it here. My oldest is obsessed with trains, so the train at the playground was a big hit. We didn’t try the other playground at the park because the toddler section kept my almost 5 and 2 year old completely occupied.
