Two adults can share a peaceful stroll, sit with take-away coffee or watch public art, yet lack of café, evening ambiance or privacy means it is a pleasant filler, not a standout date venue.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time to stroll paths, spot sculptures and relax on benches.
Stroll rubber-surfaced paths:
Walk the fenced pedestrian routes lined with flowers and shrubs.
Tip: Follow the loop clockwise to spot all planting beds and benches.
Photograph 'The Trees Have Eyes' sculptures:
Find anti-litter art pieces scattered among mature trees.
Tip: Use early morning light for best contrast in photos.
Relax on picnic benches:
Take a break under shade with a take-away coffee.
Tip: Visit a nearby café on University Road for fresh brews.
Skate at adjacent skate park:
Use ramps and grind boxes if you bring your own boards.
Tip: Check surface dryness to avoid slips after rain.
Bring a lightweight rain jacket year-round. In spring and summer, flowers bloom along the walkways. Avoid skate sessions after heavy rain.

Spacious green space with a playground for kids. There's also a mini skatepark inside. The benches look clean and well maintained.

Fenced in park near to the cathedral parking. Great park for kids. The floor is a soft foam, overall a safe place next to a busy road. Some interactive play things like the sand digger and the water pump which is unique and fun for kids. There is also free wifi if you can get on.

Beautiful park to take the kids to. Clean, and well kept. Play ground is very nice with lots to do and see. Keep a few coins handy for the toilet available. Lots of historical places to see and visit around the park. Ducks in the little river. Close to shops like Tesco express.

My kids loved it here. My oldest is obsessed with trains, so the train at the playground was a big hit. We didn’t try the other playground at the park because the toddler section kept my almost 5 and 2 year old completely occupied.
