Children can swim or take a volcano-boat cruise, yet steep cliff steps, rocky terrain and zero playgrounds demand constant adult help and caution.
Why 1-2 days visit duration is ideal for with kids: Families need time for ferry transfers, a boat cruise, swimming and village strolls without rushing.
Volcano–Hot Springs–Therasia Cruise:
Join a shared 5–6 hour boat trip: hike Nea Kameni volcano, swim in hot springs, then land at Therasia for free time.
Tip: Bring life jackets, swim gear and snacks. Book at least one day in advance.
Swim at Korfos Bay:
Enjoy calm, clear Aegean water on the pebbled Korfos beach.
Tip: Wear water shoes and bring a child-friendly snorkel. Arrive early to avoid afternoon sun.
Explore Manolas Village:
Wander paved lanes in Manolas to see cave houses and caldera views.
Tip: Use a lightweight stroller or child carrier. Stay on main paths to avoid uneven steps.
Lunch at Korfos Waterfront Tavern:
Sample fresh fish, gyros and Greek salads with sea views.
Tip: Reserve a table in advance. Ask for child portions and shaded seating.
Ferry Ride from Ammoudi Port:
Take the public boat from Oia’s Ammoudi Port to Therasia’s Riva Port.
Tip: Arrive 15 minutes early. Kids under 6 ride free; bring a light jacket for the breeze.
Visit in late spring or early autumn for milder weather and calm seas. Avoid midday sun by starting activities before 11 AM.

Traditional Greek town, beautiful sunset views over to Mykonos. Much quieter and less of a tourist trap. Authentic Greece experience, friendly and knowledgeable locals who are more than welcoming. Not as many restaurants but lovely fresh food nevertheless. Recommend a visit.
