Couples get romantic caldera sunsets, quiet tavern dinners and wine tasting at Mikra Thira, with minimal crowds to interrupt privacy.
Why 3-5 days visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time to explore villages, enjoy a winery tour and a caldera cruise at a relaxed pace.
Agia Irini Church visit:
Climb to the 19th-century white chapel above Manolas for a panoramic caldera view.
Tip: Go at sunrise or early morning to avoid the heat and crowds.
Sunset stroll in Manolas:
Walk the narrow lanes to a caldera-edge bench or café terrace as the sun dips behind Santorini.
Tip: Reserve a table or bench by 30 minutes before sunset for best viewing.
Mikra Thira winery tasting:
Join a 90-minute guided tour with Assyrtiko and local cheese or charcuterie pairings.
Tip: Book at least one day ahead and bring a valid ID for the tasting.
Caldera boat cruise:
Sail small-group around the caldera, swim stops and wine tasting on Therasia.
Tip: Pack swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen and a light towel; confirm departure at Riva Port.
April–June and September–October offer mild weather and thinner crowds. July–August is busy and hot—carry water, sun protection and book activities early. Winter sees limited ferry and café hours.

Traditional Greek town, beautiful sunset views over to Mykonos. Much quieter and less of a tourist trap. Authentic Greece experience, friendly and knowledgeable locals who are more than welcoming. Not as many restaurants but lovely fresh food nevertheless. Recommend a visit.
