Smooth paths and shaded benches work for strollers, but no listed nursing room, changing table or baby-size play gear, so a visit is doable but less convenient for caregivers with infants.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to stroll the paved routes, rest at shaded benches, explore the herb garden and enjoy a café break without rushing
Stroll on paved paths:
Follow the smooth, stroller-friendly routes around the park
Tip: Stick to main walkways to avoid gravel sections and make pushing easier
Relax at shaded benches:
Rest under large plane trees on well-placed benches
Tip: Use these spots for baby feeding or nap time away from direct sun
Explore the Cretan herb garden:
Visit the small garden at the north entrance showcasing local herbs
Tip: Let your baby smell a few leaves and explain the scents as a sensory activity
Enjoy snacks at the café-bar:
Order light bites, warm milk and coffee from the park café
Tip: Ask staff for a quiet corner and check if high chairs or bottle-warming are available
In spring the herb garden is at peak bloom. In summer, arrive early to beat the heat and use shaded areas. Check local listings for free summer concerts and festivals.

Walked through this park while strolling around the city. quite a nice change in scenery in comparison to the buildings all around. Best of all was having the shades and trees around to keep cool while it's sunny. it's a nice resting area

Gorgeous little spot with a fun playground, little bookshelf and a beautiful and well priced cafe, plenty of shade spots over the playground itself! Would definitely return and encourage others to do the same!

This park is little outside of the city center of Heraklion. There is enough place to sit and a cafe to buy drinks. However, the administration should plan to keep the lawn greenery. They charge 10 euro from each tourist from the hotel reservation. It is sad such a nice park is being neglected.
Φίλιππος Πετούσης
Situated between Dimokratias Street and Eleftherias Square (Freedom Square), extending over the “stuffed” Venetian trench, the park was named after Mayor Minas Georgiadis who was executed by the Germans on the 3rd of June 1942. You will see his bust on the central pathway. Today the park is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or drink during the warm summer days and nights and you can also shop ...

Brilliant park in the city. If your looking for a bit of green in the city, this is definitely your place. The kids playground is well kept, so everything is in working order. There’s a cafe/canteen in the park too in case you want a drink, something to drink or don’t have kids. It’s definitely a nice place to go for a walk and relax for a bit.
