This is a very picturesque and quaint street filled with stores of every type, cafes and passages to parallel streets on both sides. Some passages lead into a courtyard, and we had the chance to visit Salzburg in Wintertime, thus finding several Christmas markets in these courtyards.

It's your classic Bavarian shopping area. A bit more expensive than normal shops but great place to wander around, especially at Christmas.
Arrive early in summer to beat crowds. In winter, explore after 4 pm for festive lights on the guild signs.
