This is a very picturesque and quaint street filled with stores of every type, cafes and passages to parallel streets on both sides. Some passages lead into a courtyard, and we had the chance to visit Salzburg in Wintertime, thus finding several Christmas markets in these courtyards.

It's your classic Bavarian shopping area. A bit more expensive than normal shops but great place to wander around, especially at Christmas.
In summer visit before 10 am to avoid crowds. In winter, after dusk the shop façades glow with festive lights.
