What makes it 75% Kids-Friendly: Kids can use the BBQ, hunt for shells and follow a flat coastal boardwalk, all free. No playground, no lifeguards at nearby bays and hot BBQ plates require close adult supervision.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time for a picnic, boardwalk walk and beach play without rushing young children.
Picnic & BBQ at lookout:
Use the built-in gas BBQ and sheltered timber benches for a family lunch.
Tip: Bring grilling gloves, utensils and a picnic blanket for extra seating.
Beach play at First Bay:
Walk down the timber stairs to shallow rock pools and sandy shores.
Tip: Pack water shoes and keep children within arm’s reach on the unpatrolled beach.
Wildlife-spotting treasure hunt:
Give kids a checklist to find a seagull, turtle silhouette, shell and whale spout.
Tip: Print or draw the list at home and reward each find with a sticker.
Nature walk on coastal boardwalk:
Follow the pram-friendly path from Coolum Surf Club to the lookout with mosaics and lookout platforms.
Tip: Carry binoculars to spot kangaroos or wallabies in the bush section.

This view point is amazing!!! I was lucky enough to see a mother and calf whale, don't believe all the reviews around this area I spoke to someone who lived near by and if you want too see turtles head north about 5-10 minutes by foot and there are loads and can snorkel with them!!! Would still recommend this one as it stays quiet and there are a few picnic benches
From May to November, scan the ocean at dawn or dusk for migrating whales and turtles. In summer, pack wide-brim hats, sunscreen and extra water for the family.
