What makes it 88% Couple-Friendly: Wide ocean views, sunset light and a covered picnic shelter create an easy romantic spot, and free parking saves money. Lack of evening lighting or restaurants means plan food and leave by dark.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Enough time for a picnic, short boardwalk stroll and wildlife spotting without rushing.
Sunrise or sunset picnic:
Spread a blanket or use the timber shelter benches and watch the sky glow pink over the ocean.
Tip: Bring a small cooler with snacks and hot drinks to enjoy during golden hour.
Whale and turtle watching:
Scan the horizon for migrating humpbacks (May–November) and inspect rocky bays for turtles.
Tip: Use binoculars and go early morning or late afternoon for calmer seas and better light.
Coastal boardwalk stroll:
Walk from Coolum Surf Club along the pram-friendly path past Point Perry to the lookout.
Tip: Pause at mosaics and lookout platforms; listen for wallaby rustles in the bush sections.
Photography session:
Capture cliff lines, ocean panoramas and wildlife under soft sunrise or sunset light.
Tip: Bring a wide-angle or telephoto lens and shoot in RAW if your camera allows.

This view point is amazing!!! I was lucky enough to see a mother and calf whale, don't believe all the reviews around this area I spoke to someone who lived near by and if you want too see turtles head north about 5-10 minutes by foot and there are loads and can snorkel with them!!! Would still recommend this one as it stays quiet and there are a few picnic benches
Visit between May and November for whale migration. In summer, start before 9 AM to avoid heat and afternoon storms.
