What makes it 74% Kids-Friendly: Kids can scooter the smooth boardwalk, spot dolphins and explore rock pools, with toilets close by, yet no playground sits on the deck and unfenced rails mean adults must supervise constantly.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to walk the boardwalk, explore rockpools and picnic without tiring young children.
Rockpool hunt at First Bay:
Follow the boardwalk to First Bay and climb down to explore shallow rockpools.
Tip: Bring water shoes and small buckets to spot crabs and fish.
Picnic and playground at Tickle Park:
After the boardwalk, cross to Tickle Park for a playground, skate ramp and grassy picnic area.
Tip: Pack snacks and water; arrive early to claim a picnic table.
Salty Saturdays market:
Visit Jack Morgan Park 2nd Saturday each month for street food, live music and kids’ crafts.
Tip: Go at 3 pm when stalls open to let kids try afternoon art activities.
Beginner surf lesson:
Book a 1 hour lesson for kids 6+ at Coolum Surf School, right off the boardwalk area.
Tip: Check age rules and reserve spots online before arriving.

I frequently walk down here from Mt Coolum beach access 94. It's a magnificent view of Mt Coolum and the ocean. Easy walk along the boardwalk.

A short 15 minute boardwalk, but some great views of Mount Coolum and the surrounding landscape. Great to take dogs on leash, with the walk being quite flat and suitable for push chairs too.

15 min board walk and you are on the beach. Some nice walking and cycling tracks too. Good view of the mount and nice open beach. Make sure to take cover and sun protection as usual. Better and less crowded beach compared to other super crowded beaches in Sunshine coast.

Must do if you visit Noosa and surrounds!!!Beautiful walk to the beach and fantastic view of Mount Coolum.

Board walk makes beach access available to wheelchairs. Ends in a viewing platform overlooking the beach. Gentle sloping beach, patrolled at times. The elevated board walk through the forest is worth it even without the beach!
From June–October scan the water for migrating whales. In summer, start before 9 am to beat the heat and crowds.
