What makes it 44% Baby-Friendly: Parents can carry a baby to the paved lookout for quick viewing, but steep trails, zero restrooms, no shade, and no diaper tables make longer visits uncomfortable and risky.
Note: Halona Blow Hole is 44% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Hawaii for a more suitable experience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Short visit lets you see the blowhole without upsetting your baby’s routine
Watch the blowhole spray:
At high tide, seawater shoots up to 30 feet through the lava tube.
Tip: Stand behind the railing 10–15 ft back for baby safety. Bring a sun hat.
Scenic lookout photos:
The paved platform offers 180° ocean and cove views.
Tip: Use a stroller on the level area for quick photo stops and easy movement.
Plan a diaper break:
No restrooms on site; the nearest are at Sandy Beach Park 0.3 mi east.
Tip: Drive along Kalanianaʻole Hwy to Sandy Beach for toilets and shade.

Check for high tide when you go here. Unless it's high tide you won't see the blowhole steam. It's a nice stop at the lookout. You can also hike down to the spot if you want. There is limited parking but there was a police guiding us.

Beautiful little beach accessible from a trail on the side of the lookout. The rock walls surrounding the beach are very unique with almost Mars-like attributes. One of my favorite beaches on the island. Saw a sea turtle (:

We happened to be on Oahu during a very windy 4 days, and we ventured out to see the Diamond Head side of the island and to see the blowhole. It was AMAZING to see big waves, beautiful blue colors, and the water go through the blowhole and up maybe 100 feet!!! We also saw a couple of foolish people venture close to the opening. The water came out with the force of a fire hose!!!

Beautiful photo spot. Highly recommend. Worth a stop and a detour. To the right there is a little path that leads down to a small beach area with a cave. Highly recommend checking out both areas. Wear good shoes, watch your step if following path down to cave area.

Also there is a big area where pe...
