I absolutely loved the panoramic view from this monument. I recommend going at the sunset hour so the sky is even prettier.

We love this part of the city. It has incredible views all the way around. It’s an easy walk from the centre. It’s great for a picnic too. Currently the monument (may 2025) is being repaired so has scaffolding and isn’t accessible, but definitely worth a visit to the park anyway.

The view from the top is fantastic with 360 degrees around the monument! I especially love that you can see the clear top of the Author's seat an...
In summer, stay past sunset for extended daylight. In winter, dress in layers and check wind forecasts. In autumn, visit when city foliage turns orange and red.
