This castle is a jewel. It is beautifully preserved and is of a scale that feels like a real home. Tracy, our guide, was one of the best we have ever had. She is full of good information and presents very clearly. She also never makes you feel rushed on the tour.

I really enjoyed visiting Lauriston Castle! it’s such a beautiful and peaceful place with a fascinating history. I definitely recommend joining the guided tour; the guides are very knowledgeable and bring the house!

About to the end of our jetlagged day trip (to keep us awake as long as possible), we stopped at Lauriston. Although it was closed, the grounds were open and fun to explore. Beautiful views, amazing vistas, and lush flora kept our cameras out. It was also quite peaceful, with almost no one there besides our group. It made for a nice last stop before ending our day.
In spring, the Japanese garden blooms with magnolias and camellias. Summer offers daily tours and lush lawns. Autumn colours highlight woodland walks. Winter tours run weekends only and the grounds stay peaceful.
