How Kids-Friendly is Royal Princess Cruises?

School-age children can eat familiar food like fries and spaghetti, watch Thai dance shows, and spot lit temples, but there is no play area and rails require close supervision on deck.

Considerations for visiting Royal Princess Cruises (with kids)

Positives:

  • Kid-Friendly Menu: Buffet offers simple noodles, fries and fruits that appeal to most children.
  • Free Asiatique Shuttle: Enjoy a complimentary boat ride to Asiatique Pier after the cruise for extra family fun.

Challenges:

  • No High Chairs: The buffet and seating are adult-sized—bring a booster cushion or plan to hold toddlers.
  • No Play Area: Entertainment is seated performances—there’s no dedicated kids’ play space on board.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A 2-hour dinner cruise lets your family see Bangkok’s lit landmarks and enjoy the buffet without tiring younger kids.

I had the chance to try a buffet on a cruise here in Bangkok, and the experience was lovely mainly because of the views, which are truly amazing. However, I wasn’t really happy with the food. I went because the buffet was advertised as international, but honestly, the dishes were mostly focused on Asian and Indian cuisine. There were no pork or meat options, which was a big contrast for me since I...

We took trip after sunset. We were at thr 3rd/top floor. It was an amazing experience. The food was a good and a lot. The live music combined with people dancing with joy, the lights of the city in background make it an unforgettable experience. Few advice... book online, go after sunset, try to get top floor, be ready for some wait.

Overall good experience. We booked it via Klook and did not get to choose the seats. But it was comfortable and food was not the best but decent enough. Don’t expect too much. It’s not a dinner focused thing. Enjoy the cruise and sight seeing. Would have been better if they have some announcements on what we are seeing.
