Kids love the dragon story and safe short paths, toilets exist, but no playground, unfenced water edges, and zero lifeguards mean parents must supervise closely nonstop.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for a gentle walk, storytime, picnic and a café break without rushing kids.
Scenic Walk Around the Pond:
Stroll the flat path circling Yongyeon Pond and watch cliff reflections.
Tip: Bring a lightweight stroller for younger kids and pause at pavilion benches.
Dragon Legend Storytime:
Share the Dragon King’s prince legend by the water’s edge.
Tip: Read the tale in advance and point out the legend signs near the entrance.
Picnic at the Pavilion:
Lay out snacks on the grass under the traditional pavilion.
Tip: Pack easy-to-eat foods and water; let kids explore nearby rocks under supervision.
Gelato Treat at HUGELY Café:
Enjoy gelato or juice in the café overhanging the pond.
Tip: Order takeaway cups and reserve window seating for the best view.
Summer Floating Musical Concert:
Watch a free boat-based musical performance in June–July.

Yongyeon Pond is a beautiful place to kick off our journey in Jeju. It’s a 20-minute walk from Dongmun Market, and so perfect for a leisurely stroll after lunch. We came here on a warm spring day, and the pond was so clean that you could see the bottom of it. You can also get on the suspension bridge and visit Yongduam while you’re here.

I was there probably right after the floods so the water was very dirty; however, its not a reason for the 4 stars. When I was there it didn't really give me the feeling of awe but you have to see it for yourself. I hope you have better weather than I had.

Not worth coming here unless you have absolutely nothing to do. There's a huge section of the river that is filthy dirty. Once you passed that it gets kind of nice as you see the pictures but Jeju is full of more beautiful things and I would concentrate on those things first.
