How Baby-Friendly is Yongyeon Pond?

Flat entrance lets a stroller roll and café offers seats, yet narrow bridge, some stairs, no diaper table, no nursing room, and no stroller rental keep visits short and tricky.

Note: Yongyeon Pond is 49% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Jeju for a more suitable experience.

Considerations for visiting Yongyeon Pond (with baby)

Positives:

  • Flat, stroller-friendly paths: The level trail around the pond is easy to navigate with a stroller.
  • Free admission: No entry fees keep costs low and planning simple.
  • On-site restrooms: Public restrooms near the entrance help with quick diaper changes.

Challenges:

  • No baby facilities: Restrooms lack changing tables and there’s no nursing room on site.
  • Narrow suspension bridge: The wooden bridge is uneven and too narrow for strollers.

Recommended visit duration: 1-2 hours

Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Flat trails and benches near the entrance let families enjoy views without long walks.

Yongyeon Pond is a beautiful place to kick off our journey in Jeju. It’s a 20-minute walk from Dongmun Market, and so perfect for a leisurely stroll after lunch. We came here on a warm spring day, and the pond was so clean that you could see the bottom of it. You can also get on the suspension bridge and visit Yongduam while you’re here.

I was there probably right after the floods so the water was very dirty; however, its not a reason for the 4 stars. When I was there it didn't really give me the feeling of awe but you have to see it for yourself. I hope you have better weather than I had.

Not worth coming here unless you have absolutely nothing to do. There's a huge section of the river that is filthy dirty. Once you passed that it gets kind of nice as you see the pictures but Jeju is full of more beautiful things and I would concentrate on those things first.
