How Kids-Friendly is Yongduam Rock?

Older children can spot the dragon shape, hear the legend, and buy snacks on the fenced deck, but steep slippery stairs to water and absence of play zones or toilets with kids sinks cut suitability.

Considerations for visiting Yongduam Rock (with kids)

Positives:

  • Easy Access: Short walk from parking suits families with strollers.
  • Engaging Legend: Dragon shape story keeps kids curious.
  • Nearby Facilities: Restrooms and information center are steps away.

Challenges:

  • Uneven Steps: Steep, slippery paths near rocks require close supervision.
  • Sun Exposure: Limited shade on platform; bring hats and sunscreen.
  • Wave Splash: High waves can splash onto deck; children may get wet.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This gives time to walk the deck, take photos, try snacks, and enjoy a boat ride without rushing.

It's alright a place to visit if you happen to be close by. I would recommend stopping by a cafe after to enjoy the view or plan a meal around the area rather than specifically travelling here to do sightseeing.

Nothing special at all lol I don't know why it's such a big tourist attraction here. The shore is an okay walk to pass time but I would not go out of the way to come here.

16 December 2024 at 5.30pm Take time to make out the jagged and layered rock similarity with a lion’s head. It’s also a picturesque spot to catch the sunset and watch the planes making the final approach. Maybe even snap one in the background!
