What makes it 70% Baby-Friendly: Pram-friendly paths, shade trees and café highchairs help, but baby-change rooms are unconfirmed and water hazards require vigilance, slightly reducing convenience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a leisurely stroller walk, café break and rest stops with the baby.
Stroller-Friendly Garden Paths:
Wide, flat paths of the Mona Vale Walk run through the gardens.
Tip: Stay on the main loop to avoid uneven ground; use a stroller or pram.
Shady Rest Areas on the Lawns:
Large trees offer cool shade spots on the Mound and stream-side lawns.
Tip: Bring a picnic blanket and plan feeding or nap breaks under the trees.
Riverside Terrace Café Visit:
Homestead café terrace overlooks the Avon River.
Tip: Call ahead to reserve a highchair and ask for a riverside table.
Quiet Photo & Nap Spot:
Benches by the river and near the pavilion offer calm rest areas.
Tip: Visit early mornings or weekdays for the quietest seating.

Beautiful gardens immaculately maintained. Delightful flora thoughtfully planted amongst older trees.

Just a beautiful place really. Amazing garden surrounded by the Avon river and lovely houses. Duck are very friendly too. Now the bath house is open again, it's even better. Lovey to stroll around and enjoy.

Really enjoyed the walk in this garden with everything blooming being Spring. Lots of close parking off Mona Vale Ave, cafe available part time, lots of seating dotted about, lovely river flowing through with lots of ducks and little bridges to cross. Hours open from 7am - 9pm in Summer, Winter 7am - 5.30pm. Fernery was my favorite and the stain glass gaebo, could easily spend a couple of hours lo...

At this time of year it's beautiful. So many spring flowers. The fernery is magic. Mulled wine at the café delicious 😋

A lovely place for a stroll. Benches are placed throughout the property, there is a café, and free, guided tours are offered some days (e.g., two Saturdays in May). I especially liked the Fernery, with its coolness and tranquility. People were enjoying a sunny autumn day on the café’s patio.
Visit November–May to see vibrant iris and lily blooms along the river.
