Positives:

  • Safe learning space: Mini road circuit lets kids practise road rules in a controlled setting.
  • On-site amenities: Covered BBQs, picnic tables and toilets are close to play areas.
  • Varied activities: Biking, pump track, trains and fruit picking keep all ages engaged.

Challenges:

  • Weather sensitivity: Trails can flood or get muddy after rain; check park notices before you go.
  • No food sales: There’s no café or kiosk; bring all food and water for the family.
  • Uneven terrain: Forest paths have roots and gravel; standard strollers won’t manage most trails.

One of the best finds in Christchurch. Excellent facilities for both walkers and bikers here. Great bbq and picnic areas, heaps of open space to relax in. Lots of parking and dog friendly. Had a great time here, highly recommend. Many different options of tracks to walk from short to long.

The new kids street sign area and pump track is so great. Fantastic for beginners and family mountain biking. My daughter had a wee scrape and the folks at Cycling The Dream provided us with a bandage from their big first aid box, which was much appreciated.
