Smooth paths, multiple diaper tables, and several free nursing rooms make visits feasible; still, no stroller rental, limited shaded benches, and noisy festival crowds can stress parents with infants.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a relaxed stroll, baby breaks, and a picnic without rushing.
Stroll stroller-friendly paths:
Wide, paved walkways run through Western and Japanese gardens.
Tip: Start at the north gate near the music hall to settle baby needs early.
Use TSURUMA GARDEN Rest House:
Offers private nursing rooms, diaper tables, and vending machines.
Tip: Open 9:00–17:00; bring small cash for vending items.
Picnic by the central fountain:
Western-style garden with rose beds and shaded seating.
Tip: Bring a small blanket and choose a spot under the trees.
Feed koi at Japanese-style ponds:
Two ponds host colorful koi and ducks close to park paths.
Tip: Sit on the low stone wall and offer baby water-safe observations.
Visit accessible baby-care toilets:
North of the music hall has a built-in baby bed in an accessible restroom.
Tip: Use this spot for diaper changes; it stays clean and free.

A dreamland! Beautiful around all the seasons, day and night, evening or morning and, even in rainy days Tsuruma park never fails to amaze me. As my campus is just beside, the Nagoya University Hospital, almost every day I cross the park, enjoy the quiet ambience and filling myself up with peace! Oh, try to come during sakura season. One of the best sakura in Japan blooms here. 🌸🪻🌷

Clearly labelled sections with different flowers blooming at different times of the year. It’s a nice walk around, prob best early morning or in the evening when the sun isn’t so strong.

Visited on Monday 7 Apr 2025. Sakura in shades of white and pink in full bloom besides Tulips! Lively atmosphere even it’s Monday. Enjoyed Hanami activities.

We went at the end of March 2025, which was unfortunately a little too early for the full bloom. Regardless, it was still pretty and I could tell that this would be a good location for cherry blossom viewing. They cordon off the hanami areas, where many people will be picnicking. However, they leave a trail in the middle so that you can still walk through and enjoy being in the midst of the flowe...

Went there for 花見 (flower viewing 2025). Although the place was filled with people the park was really nice. Definitely would go there again on a day with fewer people. It's a good spot for flower viewing.
