Hakone Yumoto Onsen Hakoneji Kaiun (with baby)

開雲 is a truly wonderful hotel offering excellent facilities and a relaxing onsen experience. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming and the food is both delicious and beautifully traditional. Every detail reflects great care and hospitality. I highly recommend staying at Kaiun for an unforgettable experience.

Amazing, spacious twin bed room, western style. Best beds ever in a hotel. Things worth mentioning: 1. Calm and old school 2. Lovely staff! Our room was huge compared to ours in Tokyo (we got the beds not the futon). The highlight was the dinner and breakfast service! Out of this world

This rezession is only about the restaurant, not the hotel. I was no guest in the hotel and searched for "restaurant" and found this hotel / restaurant. When we asked at the restaurant (one floor up, through the hotel), if they have a seat, we didn't get one. We were asked to leave, because we are no hotel guests. The rooms are clean and the staffs are so kind and friendly. It is right by the River and quite close (walking distance) to the bustling cafe and restaurant areas near Hakone Station. The hotel is quite old, but comes with amenities, really nice indoor onsen, and spacious rooms. We stayed in early February and it was quite cold at night.
