Amazing spot - 100% recommend it was definitely one of the most amazing spots we saw around Hakone. The pictures don't do it justice - the grass fields with the forest and mountains in the background are simply splendid. You can only reach out by car so it was also not as crowded as the other popular places around Hakone.

Pretty scenic short route (probably about 30min return if you take your time) It was a dry, sunny day so not slippery at all. The route itself is slightly steep but nothing too challenging. Strollers definitely not recommended
Susuki grass peaks late September to mid-October. Attend the Susuki Festival around the autumnal equinox for free viewing and food stalls. In mid-October to early November, check dates for evening illumination of the fields.
