A ground-floor ramp, accessible toilet with changing table, and stroller-friendly aisles help, but no private nursing room and narrow upstairs stairs limit comfort, so stays should be brief.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a stroller tour, a garden stroll, a short exhibit visit and a relaxed lunch with breaks.
Stroller-friendly first-floor tour:
Wheel your stroller through the entrance hall and Art Deco sitting room.
Tip: Use the wheelchair ramp at the side entrance and fold the stroller only if doorways feel tight.
Use baby-changing facilities:
Find a full-size changing table and baby bed in the accessible restroom on the first floor.
Tip: Ask staff for the restroom key to access the diaper station and baby bed.
Garden stroller stroll:
Push your stroller along shaded paths around the garden by the sea.
Tip: Visit early or late in the day to enjoy cooler breezes and avoid direct sun.
Optional second-floor exhibit:
See the original suite where Albert Einstein stayed and Fumiko Hayashi’s reference room.
Tip: Skip this if you prefer calm and save ¥300 on adult tickets; infants enter free.
Lunch at the Club restaurant:
Order mild dishes like baked curry rice or doria in a corner by the fireplace.
Tip: Bring a portable booster seat and ask for a corner table for easier feeding and warmth.

I came all the way to Japan, planned the trip to go to Kitakyushu, purposely booked a day tour that make a stop here so I can visit this historic place and try the baked curry– all that to be turned down upon entry with no explanation??? The day I visited, the nice host lady greeted me and my friend, asked if we’re here for lunch or the tour. We wanted to eat lunch first (it was around 14.00) and...

The Old Moji Mitsui Club is located on the right side of Mojiko Station across the street. Mojiko is lined with old-fashioned Western-style buildings centered around the first pier, and one of the closest ones to the station is the Old Moji Mitsui Club. It is even more famous because it is said that Einstein and his wife stayed here. The first floor is a restaurant, and the second floor exhibits 2...

You can pay ¥150 to visit the second story where you can see the room where Albert Einstein and his wife stayed as well as a large exhibit on the author Hayashi Fumiko. English translations are available for the exhibits on Einstein, but is very sparse for the rooms dedicated to Hayashi Fumiko. Her exhibit is very detailed and I was wishing I was more familiar with her work.

Before coming here, I didn't have any idea that Albert Einstein has been to Japan. Although Mojiko is visited by many Korean people, there is no Korean translations for visitors in this buildings or others. I was lucky to read Japanese and English. But you shouldn't ignore people from other nationalities who often visit the area. You have to take off your shoes if you want to see the second floor....
