The wide flower fields, hiking loop, and pottery classes let a solo visitor spend a relaxed day at any pace, and the 10-minute ferry from Fukuoka makes access easy without needing companions.
Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Allows time to circle the island, explore flower fields, visit the mini zoo, and enjoy a workshop or café break.

Rent a bicycle to ride the 12 km course around the island.
Tip: Pick a bike near the entrance and follow the paved coastal route for bay views.
Explore seasonal flower fields:
Stroll through fields of canola, sunflowers, and cosmos.
Tip: Arrive at sunrise for softer light and fewer visitors in photo spots.
Grass sledding:
Race down the grassy hill on a plastic sled.
Tip: Buy a 15-minute ticket (200 yen) and join others for quick thrills.
Visit the mini zoo:
Feed goats and rabbits in the petting area.
Tip: Bring 100 yen for feed and go early to avoid lines at the feeding stations.
Play Nokonokoball:
Try 9-hole mini golf amid flower beds.
Tip: Pay 500 yen and join small groups for a casual challenge.
Join a pottery workshop:
Create ceramics at a wheel or paint Raku ware.

Beautiful garden 🤍 So luckily we left at 17:28 and took the bus to ferry port, otherwise we couldn’t take 18:00 ferry. And the last bus is at 18:30 from island park to ferry port

Beautiful fields of flowers and many great photo opportunities to be had here. Many excellent viewpoints around the park as well, especially overlooking the sea. The ticket price is a bit steep at 1500 yen, but the overall experience makes up for it. There is a regular bus service to and fro from the Nkko Island ferry terminal.

Totally worth visiting! The ferry ride over was about 560 ¥ round trip. The bus ride was also about 560 ¥ round trip. Access fee is 1500 ¥. It was so beautiful and the flowers are so kawaii. The view of the ocean was nice. There are rabbits and goats on the island. You can pet the goats and feed the rabbits. They’re also super adorable and cute. 100% recommend you visit. :)

It was a great day at the park! Beautiful views and cute animals :) I would probably recommend going during Spring more, as, despite there being some flowers, the actual flower fields weren’t in bloom. So, a visit during late August may not be 100% be worth the price. Still enjoyed my time there a lot!
