Seeing this Synagogue was my first time in my life I entered a Jewish church. I was so intensely moved by the beauty, the history, the colors of the inner sanctuary and the serenity of the space. The pictures I took do not do it justice. The colors used in the ceiling and the adornments were vibrant , almost pulsating. And hardly anyone was there. It was a shock that during services that the women...

It's a beautiful building on the outside but we never got to see it on the inside because of Rosh Hashana and the celebrations taking place on the inside. We were a little disappointed about this as we were only visiting the city on that day, hence the 3 stars. I was pleased to see the armed guards outside the Synagogue; very necessary at this time! I would love to visit the Synagogue again if I...

Very beautiful, huge synagogue with a museum on the second floor telling the history of synagogue and getto nearby. It was a pleasant surprise to learn, on the plaque at the entrance to the mechitza, that the armchairs in the mechitza had been restored by the Ferragamo family.

Very beautiful synagogue. I didn't like the fact that I couldn't bring my purse with me. They made me check it in which I did not like and they told me to bring my wallet which I did not like. I think it has some interesting history and the architecture of the building is fantastic. They were hardly anybody in the museum and if there were people they were Jewish solely.
