What makes it 52% Baby-Friendly: Babies enter free and strollers fit the ramp and elevator, but no listed changing table or nursing room and a very quiet prayer hall mean parents should time a short, low-impact visit and ask staff for help.
Why 1–2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: A brief tour keeps your baby comfortable and covers the garden and ground-floor hall.
Garden photo spot:
Stroll the gated garden behind the synagogue and spot red-tiled rooftops and the green dome.
Tip: Bring your stroller or use a baby carrier for best views of the skyline.
Ground-floor interior visit:
Walk under the Moorish-style cupola and admire mosaic-lined walls on the ground level.
Tip: Arrive early to avoid crowds and secure a quiet corner for your baby.
Restroom break:
Use the public restroom near the ticket office for quick baby changing.
Tip: Ask staff for the most private stall and bring a portable changing mat.

Seeing this Synagogue was my first time in my life I entered a Jewish church. I was so intensely moved by the beauty, the history, the colors of the inner sanctuary and the serenity of the space. The pictures I took do not do it justice. The colors used in the ceiling and the adornments were vibrant , almost pulsating. And hardly anyone was there. It was a shock that during services that the women...

We were a little disappointed about this as we were only visiting the city on that day, hence the 3 stars. I was pleased to see the armed guards outside the Synagogue; very necessary at this time! I would love to visit the Synagogue again if I...

Very beautiful, huge synagogue with a museum on the second floor telling the history of synagogue and getto nearby. It was a pleasant surprise to learn, on the plaque at the entrance to the mechitza, that the armchairs in the mechitza had been restored by the Ferragamo family.

Very beautiful synagogue. I didn't like the fact that I couldn't bring my purse with me. They made me check it in which I did not like and they told me to bring my wallet which I did not like. I think it has some interesting history and the architecture of the building is fantastic. They were hardly anybody in the museum and if there were people they were Jewish solely.
In summer, visit in the morning to avoid heat in the garden. In rainy months, carry a small umbrella; indoor space is limited.
