What makes it 84% Kids-Friendly: The fenced playground, flat paths and open lawns give children up to 12 plenty of safe playtime, though crowds on Sundays and lack of indoor backup in rain reduce comfort.
Why 0.5-1 hour visit duration is ideal for with kids: This time lets kids play in the playground and families browse the market without feeling rushed.
Children’s Playground:
Compact play area with swings, slides, wooden tent and multi-play frames for ages 3–12.
Tip: Visit early to avoid crowds and check equipment for wet surfaces.
People’s Park Café:
Tearoom-style pavilion serving coffee, pastries, juices and light meals.
Tip: Grab take-away items and picnic on the lawns to save time.
Sunday Food & Craft Market:
Global food stalls and artisans set up every Sunday from 11:00–16:00.
Tip: Arrive by 10:30 to find seating and try fudge, pancakes or mini pizzas.
Garden for the Blind Sensory Trail:
Trail featuring scented and textured plants for hands-on exploration.
Tip: Encourage kids to gently touch leaves and bark; bring wipes for hands.

The park is nice, the playground is good. But the park closes and doesn’t open until a random time each morning. The park often gets lots of rubbish in it, especially on weekend market days. The fountains probably need more regular cleaning as well. But when the park is good it is very good.

This is an amazing park and on Sundays they also have a farmers market. There are many nice people with their amazing dogs 🐕. I visit this market sometimes on Sundays and pet the amazing dogs 🐕. There is also a cafe in this garden/ park.

A beautiful park especially at night and when you have it all to yourself, of course in the day time you can enjoy the flowers, sea views and the weekend market, a super park with stunning surroundings, cheers

All a Town park needs to be: has 2 fountains, a playground, a toilet, a cafe, lovely old trees, view to the infinite sea, weekend events and markets. I love coming here. Small but local and with history.
Sunday market runs year-round. In summer, bring sunscreen and water. In autumn and winter, pack raincoats and layer up; café hours remain until about 16:30.
