What makes it 77% Couple-Friendly: Couples get sea-view strolls, a cosy tearoom and a lively Sunday market for date photos, yet the limited size and early closing may shorten a romantic afternoon.

Positives:

  • Easy access: People’s Park sits next to the Dún Laoghaire DART station. The park gates are a two-minute walk from the platform.
  • Free park entry: Walking the gardens, deck and playground costs nothing outside of market purchases.

Challenges:

  • Limited café seating: Tables can fill by late morning on weekends. Visit before 11 am to secure a spot.
  • Sunday market only: The food and craft stalls appear only on Sundays. Plan your visit after 10 am Sunday or skip if you come on other days.

The park is nice, the playground is good. But the park closes and doesn’t open until a random time each morning. The park often gets lots of rubbish in it, especially on weekend market days. The fountains probably need more regular cleaning as well. But when the park is good it is very good.

This is an amazing park and on Sundays they also have a farmers market. There are many nice people with their amazing dogs 🐕. I visit this market sometimes on Sundays and pet the amazing dogs 🐕. There is also a cafe in this garden/ park.

All a Town park needs to be: has 2 fountains, a playground, a toilet, a cafe, lovely old trees, view to the infinite sea, weekend events and markets. I love coming here. Small but local and with history.

From May to September, use the café’s outdoor tables to catch sea breezes. In winter, visit on sunny days when the eastern sun warms the veranda.
