What makes it 79% Solo-Friendly: A solo visitor gets quiet sunbathing, caldera views, and on-site dive trips, but must handle the rocky path, lack of lifeguard, and bring all water and shade supplies.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: 2-3 hours is enough to swim, take photos, and try a snorkeling or scuba session without rushing.
Swim and relax:
Enjoy the uncrowded pebbly shore with natural shade under the trees.
Tip: Bring a towel and reusable water bottle; the water is clear and shallow near the shore.
Half-day snorkeling safari:
Join a guided boat trip to snorkel along the caldera’s undersea cliffs.
Tip: Book online in advance, arrive 15 minutes early, and pack sunscreen and a light snack.
Discover Scuba Diving (Beginner):
Try a 2-hour introductory dive program with gear rental and a safety briefing.
Tip: Choose the 10:00 session for calmer water and confirm your booking at least a day before.

We had a wonderful snorkeling experience here with Dimitris Kampanos from Dive in Action, a local organization championing the protection of the unique, beautiful and important Posidonia meadows. We learned so much about why the Posidonia is important (fish nursery, erosion control, carbon sink) and the threats (high speed ferries, anchoring) putting this magical habitat at risk! Highly recommend ...

More of a wild beach. Cool spot. Careful as choppy waves from bigger passing ships can bring the tide up briefly and wash away your things. Put them farther back or on a high rock. Enjoy!

Amazing beach to swim from, nice and quiet, great view of caldera, some shade also, clear blue green waters. Like the Grand Canyon with water

It is quite the climb back up after but the beach wasn’t too busy and very beautiful. If you’re not afraid of going a bit further at the buoy there is a big rock with plenty of fish which is for snorkelling if you can handle the waves.

A bit risky to walk down but very unique location, great view of caldera, but small beach.
Visit in May–June or September for milder weather and fewer crowds. In July–August, arrive before 10:00 to avoid heat and book water activities online. Winter months can bring rough seas and make the descent slippery.
