What makes it 83% Couple-Friendly: Couples enjoy romantic sunset vistas, tree-framed picnic spots and shared scuba or snorkel tours, yet should note zero sunbed rental and a steep, pebbly shoreline.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: This timeframe covers swimming, snorkeling or a short dive, and sunset photos without rushing.
Swim and Sunbathe in the Caldera Cove:
Wade into clear, shallow water and relax on the pebbly shore.
Tip: Use the tree-shaded section for natural cover; bring a beach mat for comfort.
Capture Sunset Over Nea Kameni:
Watch the sun dip behind the volcanic islet for dramatic caldera views.
Tip: Arrive one hour before sunset; set your camera on a stable surface or tripod.
Try Discover Scuba Diving:
Join a guided 2-hour beginner dive to explore underwater volcanic cliffs.
Tip: Book at least one day in advance; pack a quick snack and water.
Join a Half-Day Snorkeling Safari:
Boat to Red Beach and White Beach with gear, guide, snacks, and drinks.
Tip: Confirm departure time with the operator and wear reef shoes for rocky entry.

We had a wonderful snorkeling experience here with Dimitris Kampanos from Dive in Action, a local organization championing the protection of the unique, beautiful and important Posidonia meadows. We learned so much about why the Posidonia is important (fish nursery, erosion control, carbon sink) and the threats (high speed ferries, anchoring) putting this magical habitat at risk! Highly recommend ...

More of a wild beach. Cool spot. Careful as choppy waves from bigger passing ships can bring the tide up briefly and wash away your things. Put them farther back or on a high rock. Enjoy!

Amazing beach to swim from, nice and quiet, great view of caldera, some shade also, clear blue green waters. Like the Grand Canyon with water

It is quite the climb back up after but the beach wasn’t too busy and very beautiful. If you’re not afraid of going a bit further at the buoy there is a big rock with plenty of fish which is for snorkelling if you can handle the waves.

A bit risky to walk down but very unique location, great view of caldera, but small beach.
June–September has warm water but strong sun. Visit in May or late September for milder weather and fewer crowds. Plan water activities in the morning to avoid heat.
