What makes it 58% Kids-Friendly: Older kids can enjoy the swing and rock exploring, yet sheer drop-offs, no barriers, and zero toilets or shade demand close supervision and a brief visit.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This time lets families explore the lighthouse views, rock formations, and sunset without tiring kids.
Cliff-edge swing photo:
Let each child try the wooden swing hanging by the cliff for a thrilling sea-view snapshot.
Tip: Stay close and hold the swing steady as kids take turns one at a time.
Rock-ledge picnic:
Spread a blanket on the flat volcanic rock ledges for snacks and sea watching.
Tip: Bring non-crumbly snacks and plenty of water to keep kids energized.
Short nature trail:
Walk a gentle loop along the cliffs to spot wildflowers, birds, and volcanic rock shapes.
Tip: Point out how the lighthouse flashes every 10 seconds to guide ships.
Explore the sea-view cave:
Climb carefully behind the lighthouse to find a small cave framing the Aegean Sea.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes and guide younger kids by hand through rocky sections.

Drive up here to watch the Sunset. We arrived around half hour before the sunset and just about got a parking space. Would recommend going on a day when its not to windy as it was very windy compared to the other parts of the island.

Beautiful views, parking bit iffy on the road leading up to lighthouse. Excellent views, walk to lighthouse was easy enough, maybe 100m. Watched the small catamerans rounding the cape. Had coffee in small kiosk, beautiful views

The short hike down to the flat area allows for breathtaking shots if someone can stay higher up and take photos of you. There is an eatery in the parking area for food and drinks (including alcohol). Nice stop away from all the tourists, and if you ...

The lighthouse is not open for tours, however it is neat to visit and definitely a must see during a visit to Santorini! We were pleasantly surprised to find beautiful, picturesque photo opportunities among various rock formations down behind the lighthouse. I do recommend wearing sneakers, or solid hiking shoes to navigate the terrain. Careful and sure footing will be a must to get incredible pho...

Beautiful place on the cliffs edge! We climbed the trails in flip flops but all was well! 🤣 360° views - a must see. Snack bar near the parking lot. Grab a cold drink before you walk to the waters edge!
In summer, visit late afternoon to avoid midday heat and strong sun. In spring/fall, mornings and afternoons are both pleasant. Winter can be windy—bring windbreakers.
