Kids enjoy counting columns and open space, but parents must monitor closely because there are no railings, little shade, few educational panels, and no child-friendly toilets.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: 2-3 hours gives time to explore ruins, hunt columns, picnic, and visit nearby gardens without rushing.
Column Scavenger Hunt:
Search for carved acanthus leaves atop the Corinthian columns.
Tip: Give each child a simple list of shapes to find before you start.
Picnic on Lawn:
Sit on the grassy terrace outside the ruins.
Tip: Pack light snacks and a blanket; no café on site.
Family Audio Guide:
Use a child-friendly audio tour with myth stories.
Tip: Book in advance for the kids’ version to keep them engaged.
Playtime in National Garden:
Walk 5 minutes west to playgrounds and shaded paths.
Tip: Let kids run free here after the temple visit.
Visit in spring or autumn when temperatures are mild. In summer, go at opening time and bring sun hats, water, and sunscreen.

The columns are impressive but was mostly covered in scaffolding and there is not much else to see. The problem is the price 20 euros per adult seems excessive compared to the other sites. This can be done in 15 minutes and is priced to the same as much more expensive sites.

Ruins of the temple are interesting, but the main attraction is the view at sunset. Little difficult to reach the top with rough uneven ground. 20 Euros a head to enter. Don't expect to be alone. Many tour busses.

These columns aren’t just big — they were meant to connect heaven and earth… a must see after acropolis and agora, but be careful not to go when it’s too hot because it’s mostly open space.

Not worth 20 euros. The museum isn't even operational. There's very little information. It's easily seen from outside of it. I would highly recommend against paying 20 euros to walk in there. Maybe if it was 5 Euros it would be worth it. Maybe.

Early early. Crowds were good. Museum is currently closed and under reconstruction. You do not need a guide. Follow the leader and read all the signs. It is not handicap accessible as the elevators were closed due to maintenance and have been.
