What makes it 75% Kids-Friendly: Kids gain a playground, beginner pump track and turf for soccer, yet parents face untidy washrooms, no staff supervision and must watch fast bikes nearby.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for playground play, a picnic, and trying out the skate/bike area without rushing younger kids.
Playground Adventure:
Slides, swings and climbing frames beside open lawns.
Tip: Bring a frisbee or sand-free toys to extend playtime and supervise from the nearby benches.
Beginner Skate & Bike:
Low-speed pump-track loops and small ramps.
Tip: Pack helmets and pads. Let kids start on the slow loops before moving to bigger ramps.
Pick-Up Sports Games:
Full-size turf soccer pitch, youth multi-use field and softball diamond.
Tip: Bring your own ball. Casual games are free; reserve a field with a Park Permit (approx. CAD 30/hr) for group play.
Picnic & Running Games:
Wide, grassy margins and shaded spots under mature trees.
Tip: Lay out a blanket and snacks. Pack water and sunscreen for active games like tag or frisbee.

Nice fields.. but they need bathrooms closer to the fields. The outhouse were dirty and didn't have hand sanitizer. Parking lot is tiny and tight spaces too

Wonderful weekend visit to Topaz Park and the Highland Celtic Festival! It was a great sunny and windy weekend. Entertainment all around. Haggis by the cup and the very merry Pipes and Drums

Great park for breaking out the scooter, bikes and other wheelie devices. There’s 4 distinct areas- playground, adult exercise equipment area, the bike & scooter track and a sweet skateboard park. It’ll be an awesome summer time spot for the kids and teens. Didn’t see anything in the way of tents, needles etc so it struck me as very safe. I’m told you want to avoid the washrooms though!
Summer: bring water, sunscreen and hats. Spring: paths can be muddy—wear boots. Fall: watch for slippery leaves. Winter: check for icy patches on paths.
