What makes it 57% Kids-Friendly: Seasonal funfair rides and open lawns entertain, yet no fixed playground, unfenced water and long calm stretches can leave under-12s idle or require close supervision.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A 2-3 hour visit lets a family explore fountains, enjoy a picnic and try a few carnival rides without tiring younger kids.
Watch the water features:
Walk to the two water fountains and small arched bridges.
Tip: Bring a snack and sit on nearby benches to watch ducks and splash patterns.
Enjoy the spring Meifoor carnival:
Ride small roller-coasters and merry-go-rounds in May.
Tip: Buy ride tokens at the entrance booth and plan for 2-3 rides per child.
Sample summer food trucks:
Grab family-friendly snacks and drinks from rotating trucks.
Tip: Bring a picnic blanket and find a grassy spot near the water.
Ice skate at Winter Glow:
Skate under twinkling lights on the outdoor rink in winter.
Tip: Book skate rentals in advance and warm up with hot chocolate at the Winter Bar.

Nice park closed to train station. Enjoy relaxed here before leaving Bruges.

A great park for walking or cycling, with well-kept greenery, benches, and scenic bridges perfect for photos. You can walk all along the water. From the inner city, you can take the river route on horseback and enjoy amazing views along the way.

Quite and peaceful park in Bruges

Beautiful, peaceful, quiet park. We pass this park when walking to the train station from the city centre, and it’s such a nice walk, the distance feels shorter. There always seems to be a light breeze and with the grass really green and the sky so blue, the shade from the trees, it really is such a nice respite from the bustle of the city. A few people sit around and relax near the water.
Visit in early May for the Meifoor carnival rides. In summer, check the park’s food-truck schedule for kid-friendly snacks. From late November to early January, try ice skating and walk through the free light art installations.
