Seemed an innocuous castle but once we got in we learned just how involved it was for WW1 history. Also a great demonstration of what happens with successive generations, and what must be done. Beautiful grounds, wonderful castle, and an excellent recording of the human condition over multiple centuries.

The garden of the castle is quite pleasant, full of trees and trails to explore. We didn't visit the castle, but the architecture from the outside is impressive. There is no entry fee for the garden and there toilets available. Recommended

Very nice castle, well preserved and with a fine collection of art.

Really beautiful gardens and view from the outside. It’s free if you just explore the gardens, didn’t go inside. Worth viewing from the outside. There’s safe parking area. Would definitely recommend visiting if you’re wanting to do something for free. You do have to pay to go inside though. Very peaceful here.
The hedge maze operates April–October. In colder months focus on the interior tour as park features may close.
