What makes it 88% Kids-Friendly: A fenced soft-fall playground, open grass for ball games, free gas BBQs and the next-door Alex Skate Park keep children active, but parents must watch youngsters near unfenced cliff edges and traffic.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to play at the playground, have a BBQ picnic, stroll the headland and enjoy the beach without tiring young kids.
Playground Adventure:
Let kids climb, slide and bounce on the fenced playground with soft-fall surface.
Tip: Go early to avoid peak sun and crowds.
Picnic & BBQ:
Use free gas barbecues and sheltered picnic tables for lunch under shade sails.
Tip: Bring your own food and utensils; pack cold drinks for kids.
Safe Beach Swim:
Swim between the flags at Alexandra Headland Beach when lifeguards are on duty (Sept–May).
Tip: Check patrol times on signage and stay close to shore.
Skate-Park Fun:
Roll or watch skaters at the adjacent Alex Skate Park in Buhk Family Park.
Tip: Bring skate gear if older kids want to try; supervision is needed.
Headland Coastal Walk:
Follow the paved 1 km path to the lookout for ocean views and family photos.
Tip: Bring a stroller or scooter for little ones on the smooth path.

Great place for a break. Some of the best views on the Coast. Parking and Toilets. Seating and shelter. Can access the beach via stairs.

Great place for families and children. There is a childrens playground and BBQ area's all right on the beachfront of Mooloolaba. You can also walk the pathway up to Alexanda headland and enjoy the views or walk onto the beach and look at the rockpools.

Pretty hard to beat, sitting in the carpark with a burger and a capucino, blue sky, blue sea, whale-watchers in the distance, yachties flapping in the breeze, lots of girls walking, kids riding scooters and bikes and Segways and folks generally looking damned fine. Once they finish the works-in-progress around the pathways and gardens, this place is gonna be hard to beat!! Good luck getting a carp...

Beautiful spot to enjoy the stunning views, great footpaths and the sound of the waves crashing over the rocks! This is a beautiful and somewhat quiet spot and such a treasure! I can’t wait to visit again and enjoy the promenade and people watching!
Summer (Dec–Feb) can be hot. Visit early morning or late afternoon for cooler temperatures and quieter spaces.
