What makes it 79% Couple-Friendly: Oceanfront lawns, sunset viewpoints, sheltered BBQ rotunda and an easy stroll to a beachfront café create relaxed date options, although limited lighting makes lingering late at night less comfortable.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time for a headland stroll, sunset picnic, café visit, and memorial stops without rushing
Sunset lookout and picnic:
Walk to the Bluff Lookout for ocean panoramas at dusk, then picnic at the shaded rotunda with built-in BBQ benches.
Tip: Bring your own food and charcoal; arrive 30 minutes before sunset to claim a bench
Headland stroll:
Follow the 1 km paved coastal path south toward Mooloolaba for flat, scenic ocean views.
Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and a hat; start early or late to avoid midday sun
Beachfront café date:
Enjoy coffee or brunch at Alex Surf Club’s Beachside Café overlooking the water.
Tip: Café opens at 5:30 am for coffee, meals from 6:30 am; budget A$5–20 per person
Memorial visits:
Visit the HMAS Brisbane, Korean War, and War Dog memorials for a quiet moment together.
Tip: All memorials are free and open at all hours; they sit near the rotunda

Great place for a break. Some of the best views on the Coast. Parking and Toilets. Seating and shelter. Can access the beach via stairs.

A pleasant park with great views! Worth seeing on the way to the beach.

Great place for families and children. There is a childrens playground and BBQ area's all right on the beachfront of Mooloolaba. You can also walk the pathway up to Alexanda headland and enjoy the views or walk onto the beach and look at the rockpools.

Pretty hard to beat, sitting in the carpark with a burger and a capucino, blue sky, blue sea, whale-watchers in the distance, yachties flapping in the breeze, lots of girls walking, kids riding scooters and bikes and Segways and folks generally looking damned fine. Once they finish the works-in-progress around the pathways and gardens, this place is gonna be hard to beat!! Good luck getting a carp...

Beautiful spot to enjoy the stunning views, great footpaths and the sound of the waves crashing over the rocks! This is a beautiful and somewhat quiet spot and such a treasure! I can’t wait to visit again and enjoy the promenade and people watching!
In summer (Dec–Feb), plan walks at dawn or dusk to avoid heat. From September to May, swim between the flags when lifeguards patrol.
