How Baby-Friendly is The Lorne Jetty?

A stroller rolls smoothly and public toilets with change tables sit nearby, but no shade, no nursing room and strong winds mean carers need short visits and backup indoor stops.

Considerations for visiting The Lorne Jetty (with baby)

Positives:

  • Pram-friendly access: The jetty’s level decking makes stroller walks smooth.
  • No entry fee: Walking the pier is free for all ages.

Challenges:

  • Sun and wind exposure: There is no shade on the jetty; bring hats and sunscreen.
  • Limited on-pier facilities: No baby-change or feeding areas on the jetty; use foreshore toilets.

Recommended visit duration: 1-2 hours

Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: A short walk and wildlife viewing keep the baby comfortable without long waits.

Good fishing, but that's about it. You can walk out on the new jetty and there is a bit of the old jetty with some history plaques.

A decent place. I don’t know what but there was a weird smell at the jetty. Nothing much to see here, the only thing you’ll find would be people fishing on the jetty. I wouldn’t mind if this place was skipped from my next day trip to Great Ocean Road.
