What makes it 79% Kids-Friendly: Kids club, Junior Marine Biologist sessions, fish feeding and glass-bottom boat tours keep 5–12s engaged, yet beaches are coral not sand, no lifeguard is present and summit trail is too steep.
Why 1-2 days visit duration is ideal for with kids: A full day lets your family enjoy snorkeling, turtle tours and beach play without rushing.
Junior Marine Biologist Program:
Kids 5+ learn fish ID, tidepool study and coral planting.
Tip: Book in advance and bring water shoes for rocky tidepools.
Turtle Rehabilitation Centre Tour:
Behind-the-scenes tour to meet rescued turtles.
Tip: Arrive 10 minutes early to chat with volunteers.
Glass-Bottom Boat Tour:
View reef corals and fish from a covered boat.
Tip: Choose a mid-morning slot for clearer water.
Kayak Family Tour:
Sit-in kayaks let parents paddle while kids relax.
Tip: Strap kids in life jackets and go at low tide for calm waters.
Nudey Beach Play:
Soft white sand and shallow water ideal for kids.
Tip: Pack a sun shelter and snacks for a longer stay.

Beautiful island, nice beach and good place to snorkel- you will encounter turtles and beautiful fishes.

Lots of dead coral around. There's a few spots as well as the jetty where you will find a lot of fish.

Amazing! The snorkeling 🤿 was beautiful. Not as "Reefey" as I hoped, but still magical! some nice shallow parts by the rocks to the left of nudey beach - Saw some turtles there!

Wonderful break away from mainstream worries. It's not a perfect Tropical Island Retreat but nice and laid back. Needs some tweaking like an ice machine and a wider range of food options. (2 burgers cost us $57) Staff are great. Snorkeling is good over the coral reefs. Only 40 minutes from Cairns. Bush walks are a bit more difficult than rated. Overall, good value stay
Visit May to October for calm seas and fewer rain showers. From November to April, carry light rain gear and check stinger nets before swimming.
