How Baby-Friendly is Kurrawa Beach?

Pram-friendly esplanade, shaded shelters, nearby change tables and parents’ room ease feeds; phone surf club to confirm facilities. Limited sand shade and strong sun glare lower comfort.

Considerations for visiting Kurrawa Beach (with baby)

Positives:

  • Lifeguarded beach: Patrolled year-round; play close to the flags.
  • Pram access: Flat promenade runs along the entire beach front.
  • Nearby facilities: Toilets, showers, and playground are within a short walk.
  • Picnic and BBQ areas: Sheltered spots with drinking taps simplify feeding your baby.

Challenges:

  • Strong sun: Shade is limited on the sand; bring a beach umbrella or tent.
  • Limited beach baby-change: On-beach change tables need a Master Locksmiths key; plan ahead.
  • Weekend crowds: Parking and picnic areas fill up quickly near midday.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for a relaxed stroll, baby playtime, and a shaded picnic.

A very quiet beach I enjoy a daily walk here to collect little seashells.

Nice clean beach. Got big buildings behind for a view. Approachable with public transport. Parking available as well. Can park for free in the surf club parking as well. Not crowded like Surfers Paradise. Got lifeguards. Waves can be big though. Sunrise looks amazing here.

Gorgeous beach away from the crowds but still with the awesome contrast of sea and big sky rise buildings behind. The beach is clean and quiet with lifeguards. There is parking right by the beach - which is free - and plenty of taps to clean your feet or thongs. Really can't go wrong here! Just be prepared for the big old waves that'll knock you right out.

Kurrawa Beach in Broadbeach may not be the safest place for a swim but it’s my happy place in this world. 💙 Beautiful sunsets, seagulls everywhere, nice reflections on the wet sands, wild waves… I love this place.
