Pram-friendly boardwalks and change tables in several toilets support infants, yet long drives between sites, limited shade on bush tracks and no stroller hire reduce overall convenience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: 2-3 hours lets you explore pram-friendly trails, playground and picnic spots without rushing a baby.
Nature Discovery Playground:
Let baby enjoy the bird-nest swing and water pump in a safe play area.
Tip: Visit early to avoid crowds and use shaded picnic seats nearby for breaks.
Sanctuary Loop:
Follow the 2.1 km boardwalk trail for a flat, stroller-friendly wildlife walk.
Tip: Use a sturdy pram and watch for platypus in the wetlands.
Hanging Rock Short Walk:
Walk 500 m return to a granite outcrop with cultural significance.
Tip: Bring a sunhat and let baby toddle on level ground.
Sheedy’s Picnic Area:
Find covered tables and nearby change facilities under trees.
Tip: Pack easy snacks and use the kiosk for hot drinks.
Autumn offers cooler temperatures and vibrant foliage. In spring, spot wildflowers along trails. In summer, go early to avoid heat and bring extra water. Winter mornings can be frosty—dress baby in layers.

I think the info can be improved. Like where actually the platypus is and the koala. And the best way to see them. Understand this is not a zoo. But that's why we need guidance to enjoy the nature at its fullest. Well looked after national park with something for everyone. A huge range of walks for all levels plus lots of picnic areas. We saw 3 platypuses, a southern-brush rock tail wallaby and many birds. Very quiet only a few other groups around

Good fun over there with friends. Good walking spots and BBq options as well. Sunny day is the perfect day to go

A beautiful natural environment that is easily accessible and close to Canberra. There are bush land and bushwalks to explore as well grassed picnic areas and play areas for children. Highlights include the Sanctuary and Koala enclosure. I would readily return again and again to enjoy this natural wonderland. The entrance is being developed and once finished it will be a great addition to the area...

This is a wonderful place. The short drive from Canberra is well worth it. We saw Bandicoots, Wallabies,Kangaroos, Koalas, a wombat, and bunch of magnificent birds. The best animal we saw was a Platypus- all of these were spotted in their natural environment. Best time to visit is just before sunset.
