With 50 km of graded MTB tracks, a 2.5 km running loop, quiet memorial walk and café for breaks, a solo guest gets active, safe, well-signed recreation all day without relying on others.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Enough time to try a trail, the pump track, memorial, and café without rushing.
Self-guided mountain bike ride:
Ride green, blue or black trails at your own pace.
Tip: Bring or rent a suitable bike; download the trail map before riding.
Pump track practice:
Use the concrete pump track to hone your bike handling.
Tip: Start with slow loops; wear gloves and helmet for safety.
Cross-country running:
Jog the 2.5 km grass loop to train or enjoy a brisk run.
Tip: Wear trail shoes; run early to avoid midday heat.
Visit ACT Bushfire Memorial:
Reflect at the sculptural stone walls and water features.
Tip: Head there mid-afternoon for softer light on the memorial.
Coffee at Handlebar café:
Relax with coffee or local beer overlooking the pump track.
Tip: Order inside then seat yourself by the windows for the best view.
Summer days get hot on open trails; bring sunscreen and water. In winter, trails can be muddy—wear waterproof shoes. Spring brings wildflowers along shared-use tracks.

Went on a Tuesday morning so nice and quiet. Great on-site facilities. Trails, skill parks and paths for all skill levels. Broke a thumb here in two places two years ago but it didn't stop me coming back. Camped nearby at Cotter campground which I highly recommend

Amazing MTB (mountain bike) riding tracks! This place has a few runs ranked from beginner to advanced level with huge jumps. Ideally, 5 of you take a vehicle up with 4 MTB. Then 4 of you ride down the mountain. Fun + excitement + huge reward to improve your skills & bravery. Thank you Canberra!
