Gentle pram-friendly fire trails, toilets and café seating make a short visit possible, yet no listed nursing room or change table and uneven paths beyond pavilion lower comfort for carers with infants.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to explore trails, play area and café without tiring the baby.
Flat shared-use management trails:
Walk on wide, gentle dirt tracks near the Pavilion with your pram or a baby carrier.
Tip: Start from the main car park and follow the loop close to the event pavilion for easy navigation.
Children’s play area and BBQ picnic:
Let your little one enjoy swings and slides while you cook at free BBQs beside shaded picnic tables.
Tip: Set up near the pavilion playground to keep baby in sight and use the nearby water station for quick clean-ups.
Handlebar café break:
Relax in the undercover café with coffee, snacks and free Wi-Fi, plus indoor seating for feeding and nappy changes.
Tip: Ask staff for a quiet corner and bring your own baby mat for comfort.
Quiet stroll to the ACT Bushfire Memorial:
Enjoy a calm walk on flat paths to reach the memorial’s stone walls and water features with your baby in a carrier.
Tip: Follow signs from the Pavilion car park; the short 500m walk is stroller-friendly.
Visit in spring for wildflowers and mild weather. In summer, arrive before 10 am to avoid heat and flies. Autumn brings cool days and colourful trees. In winter, dress the baby in windproof layers and avoid muddy trails after rain.

Went on a Tuesday morning so nice and quiet. Great on-site facilities. Trails, skill parks and paths for all skill levels. Broke a thumb here in two places two years ago but it didn't stop me coming back. Camped nearby at Cotter campground which I highly recommend

Amazing MTB (mountain bike) riding tracks! This place has a few runs ranked from beginner to advanced level with huge jumps. Ideally, 5 of you take a vehicle up with 4 MTB. Then 4 of you ride down the mountain. Fun + excitement + huge reward to improve your skills & bravery. Thank you Canberra!
