Positives:

  • Easy access: You can drive all the way to the summit, so kids avoid long climbs.
  • Safe open space: The summit area has room for children to run and play away from traffic.

Challenges:

  • No summit toilets: Public restrooms are only at the Australian War Memorial below the summit.
  • Steep trail sections: Parts of the Kokoda Track have steps and steep grades that may tire younger kids.

There is plenty of parking available, and it offers a great bird's-eye view of the city

Visited this place on a wet, rainy / windy day and was really regretted the decision as there was no shade or seating place. The view could be nicer if it's a clear weather, however not recommended to visit if it's rainy as you will not most likely to enjoy. Parking is available as there are parking spots. Unable to spot any toilets around.
