Couples enjoy panoramic sunrise-sunset views, picnic tables and photo spots reached by car or shared walk; lack of on-site café or restrooms means bringing food and timing visits.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time for the summit walk, a picnic at the lookout, and optional bike ride without rushing
Sunset picnic at the lookout:
Drive or hike to the summit and use the sheltered picnic tables as the sun dips behind the ranges
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes before sunset to secure a table and enjoy cooler temperatures
Mount Ainslie Summit Walk:
Follow the sealed 4.5 km return trail starting at the Australian War Memorial
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes and pause at the mid-trail benches for city views and a rest
Cycle up on an e-bike:
Hire an e-bike at Regatta Point and ride the sealed road for a less strenuous ascent
Tip: Book e-bikes in advance on weekends to guarantee availability
In summer, start before 9 am to avoid heat. In winter, bring layers for chilly evening breezes. Spring offers wildflowers along the trail.

Visited this place on a wet, rainy / windy day and was really regretted the decision as there was no shade or seating place. The view could be nicer if it's a clear weather, however not recommended to visit if it's rainy as you will not most likely to enjoy. Parking is available as there are parking spots. Unable to spot any toilets around.
